
Neal (P.) Barrett, Jr. was born in San Antonio on November 3, 1929. He grew up in Oklahoma City and took a degree at the University of Oklahoma's professional writer's school. He did commercial writing briefly before his fiction began to sell. He has lived all of his adult life in Texas so far.
He is the author of numerous short stories and more than fifty novels, across several genres, including contributions to several series under the franchise author's name. A few of his books include: The Gates of Time, The Karma Corps, Dawn's Uncertain Light, Pink Vodka Blues, The Prince of Christler-Coke, and The Prophesy Machine.
